Aug- now what’s been happening

It’s been a while since I’ve posted. I have had a lot going on. Over the last two months, it has been difficult. My mum died in June. Through July to October, I tried to work on Empowerment Panel and a bit on Dream Tease. I struggled with focusing on it. My anxiety was triggered.

In September, I stepped back on planning events big projects. I do call Dream Tease and Empowerment Panel to me are big and complex because there are a lot to do on my own.  But the more I work on these two events, they may not feel as big.

Concerning September and now, as someone with ADHD, planning doesn’t just disappear and let’s be honest, my creative brain wouldn’t know how to take a holiday lol, I have been working on a conversation/interview platform/series called Episodes of Empowerment. It will launch very soon.

It’s been fun to work on. I will explain in more detail how this came about. When I was planning Empowerment Panel, I approached a  sex worker I had been in touch with about Dream Tease, hoping they would be on the panel.  Before I go on, I want to take this opportunity to explain that some people in the sex industry and in the adult entertainment industry have two personas. There is nothing wrong with making that decision. It comes down the individual’s privacy and stigma. Some individuals especially in the sex industry need to keep their personal life separate from their work as a sex worker. The more you listen to episodes of Empowerment and maybe read my blog, you will see I am an ally of the sex industry and adult entertainment.
This sex worker said to me “they were about their worlds would collide if they were part of Empowerment Panel” which is fair. Anna and I asked that maybe I could interview her and post it as a blog instead. They said absolutely. I thought to myself why keep it to one interview. I noted down some people I wanted to interview and some topics and bang, Episodes of Empowerment was created. These topics are really important to me because some are often overlooked, and others still carry a lot of stigma.
In the end, I think the more we talk about these topics, maybe they won’t carry as much stigma. It just comes down to education.
